Brief background

The Department of Physics, Systems Engineering and Signal Theory (DFISTS) is so named since 1997, although it was created in 1991 under the name of Department of Computer Engineering, Automation and Techniques Physical Fundamentals. Later on, between 1992 and 1997, it was named Department of Systems Engineering and Communications (DISC).

The DFISTS has its premises in the buildings of Polytechnic II (secretary’s office and lecturers’ offices), Polytechnic III (lecturers’ offices, meeting rooms and laboratories for research and teaching) and Polytechnic I (teaching laboratories).
